A joint meeting of Osaka TMC and Osaka Sakai TMC was held on Dec. 2, 2017 at KOKO Café,

an event restaurant near Shinosaka station.

It had a special session, “Tall Word” in addition to the 3 usual sessions.

A joint party followed at the same place with amazing stage performances by four toastmasters and a private bar corner managed by a toastmaster bartender.

There were a total of 48 participants for the meeting and 43 for the party, including some who joined on the spot.

 

The event was planned carefully with an early head start, and PR was done effectively.

The meeting went smoothly without any major hitches (except a fire alarm!) and the party was full of surprises and laughter.

However, it was not free of points that need to be improved.

The venue may not have been suitable for the speeches in terms of noise.

Also we kept the participants waiting outside until the party setting was ready.

 

As for the meaning of joint meetings, some cite that it is a chance to learn from other clubs or to build comradery among toastmasters.

Through this joint meeting, we witnessed that diversity and enthusiasm generate great energy when toastmasters and guests gather in one place.

That is definitely another beauty of joint meetings.

大阪TMCと大阪堺 TMCの合同例会は平成29年12月2日、新大阪駅近辺のKOKO PLAZA併設KOKO Caféにて開催されました。

例会では与えられた「難しい言葉」の意味をその場で創作して話すという特別セッションがあり、またその後のパーティでは4人のトーストマスターによる素晴らしいステージやトーストマスターによるバーコーナーもあり、楽しいものとなりました。例会の参加者は48人、パーティは43人でした。

今回のイベントはかなり早くから準備を始め、また宣伝も効果的でした。

例会は火災の放送以外はスムーズに進行し、パーティは新鮮な驚きと笑いにあふれたものとなりました。

主な反省点は、レストランでの例会であったため、雑音があったということ、またパーティの前に参加者の皆さまを外でお待たせすることになってしまったことなどです。

合同例会の意味はお互いのクラブからの刺激や学び、そしてトーストマスターズ間の親睦であると聞きます。

今回の合同例会では、たくさんのトーストマスターズやゲストが一同に会した時、その多様性と熱意が大きなエネルギーを生み出すと感じました。

合同例会のもう一つの醍醐味といえるかもしれません。
